Wood is a living, breathing material that is subject to shrinking and swelling when exposed to moisture.  As such, there are certain measures we take to protect wooden kitchen wares from unnecessary stress.

Follow these instructions to keep your wooden cutting board in great condition for years to come!

  • Hand-wash with hot, soapy water and dry thoroughly.

  • Do not soak or submerge board in water.

  • Periodically rub with Spalt & Burl Beeswax Conditioner or a food-safe mineral oil to keep wood from drying out.  After 30 minutes, wipe off the excess conditioner/oil with a lint-free cloth.

  • To sanitize, wash the board with a solution of one part vinegar to five parts water.

  • Store in a dry area away from extreme temperatures.
